Structural Monitoring Systems
Whether you monitor the movement of a volcanic slope, the structure of a long bridge
or track the settlement of a dam; whether you measure, analyse and manage the structures
of natural or man-made objects: the monitoring systems by Leica Geosystems provide
you with the right solution for every application.
Select the right product for your needs:

Leica GeoMoS
Each monitoring project has specific measurement and accuracy requirements. The
Leica GeoMoS software provides a highly flexible automatic deformation monitoring
system that is able to combine geodetic, geotechnical and meteorological sensors
to match the needs of your monitoring project, whether it is large or small, temporary
or permanent.
|
|
Multi Purpose
Leica GeoMoS is a multi-purpose automatic deformation monitoring software
that can be used for:
- Structural deformation monitoring (e.g. dams, tunnels, bridges, high-rise buildings,
construction)
- Landslide and settlement detection (e.g. mining, rock falls, volcano slopes, subsidence)
- Automated surveys (e.g. continuous, automated measurements)
- And many more...
Scalable and flexible
The Leica GeoMoS software is comprised of two main applications called
Monitor and Analyzer.
Leica GeoMoS Adjustment is an add-on software that allows the user to make decisions
based on statistically optimized and validated data.
- Monitor is the online application responsible for the sensor control,
collection of data, computation and event management.
- Analyzer is the offline application responsible for the analysis,
visualization and post-processing of the data.
- Adjustment is the application responsible for the network adjustment,
deformation analysis and network simulation.
Leica GeoMoS stores all measurements and results in an open SQL database. The data
can be accessed both locally or remotely, using Leica GeoMoS Analyzer, Leica GeoMoS
Adjustment or third party software.
The Leica GeoMoS software is highly customizable allowing you to purchase only the
functionality you require. The sensor license concept means that the software scales
with the number and type of sensors you have connected. Additional functionality
can easily be added later should your needs change.
Sensor Connections
Leica GeoMoS offers the ability to connect geodetic (total stations and
GNSS sensors) and geotechnical sensors to understand the reasons of any detected
movement and to improve the prediction of failure.

and TCA2003 Series
- GNSS sensors: Leica GPS System 500, GPS System 1200, GMX900 Series
- Connection to Leica GNSS Spider for advanced GNSS monitoring
- Levels: Leica DNA and Leica Sprinter
- Tilt sensors: Leica Nivel20 and Nivel200 Series
- Meteorological sensor (e.g. temperature, pressure)
- An interface to Campbell Scientific dataloggers, that can support most commercially
available geotechnical sensors to measure environmental effects and conditions (e.g.
extensometers, piezometers, strain gauges, inclinometers, thermometers, barometers,
rain gauges, and many more)
Communication
Leica Geosystems offers communication solutions via the new Leica M-Com
series or standard accessories.
The Leica M-Com series offers easy installation, reliable communication
and the connection of multiple sensors and external devices.
In addition to the traditional serial based communication Leica GeoMoS also includes
a direct TCP/IP communication interface to support Ethernet technology and mobile
networks.

Leica Nivel200
The Leica Nivel210/Nivel220 precision inclination sensor for simultaneous measurement
of inclination, direction of inclination and temperature based on an optoelectronic
concept.
|
- For large structure monitoring and engineering constructions such as dams, bridges
and high-rise buildings
- The Nivel210 sensor is equipped with an RS232 interface to connect
the sensor directly
- The Nivel220 sensor is equipped with an RS485 interface to use
with a bus system
- Where high precision information about the inclination and the direction of movements
is needed
Precise information about inclination movements of structures in construction and
engineering applications:

Leica GMX901
The Leica GMX901 is a compact, robust and precise single frequency receiver designed
spe-cifically for monitoring applications. Sensitive structures such as dams, rock
slopes, mine walls and buildings can be monitored around the clock for the smallest
of movements.
|
|
Leica GMX901 streams precise single frequency code and phase data up to 1 Hz, providing
the basis for highly accurate position determination and deformation analysis.
Focused on the essentials
Designed with a focus on the essential – low power consumption, high quality
measurement, simplicity, durability – Leica GMX901 is an ideal sensor for
monitoring. It has a robust housing that is water, heat, cold and vibration resistant
and which can be easily mounted on the infrastructure to be monitored.
Integrated in GPS Spider and GeoMoS
Leica GMX901 connects seamlessly to the Leica GPS Spider advanced GPS processing
software for coordinate calculation and raw data storage. The Leica GeoMoS monitoring
software can be used to provide integration with other sensors, analysis of movements
and calculation of limit checks. Third party analysis software can also be easily
integrated via the standard NMEA interface of Leica GPS Spider.

System 2000
The high-performance total stations have unique precision. You can tackle demanding
tasks in engineering surveying, in tunnel building as well as structural work above
and below ground both reliably and with very high precision. TCA1800 Universal total
station for demanding surveying tasks with high accuracy requirements. Angle measuring
accuracy of 1" (0.3 mgon) TC2003 / TCA2003 Robust precision total station for the
highest requirements in surveying with an angle measuring accuracy of 0.5" (0.15
mgon)
|
|
Angle & distance measurement
The total stations have a specially-manufactured angle measuring
system that facilitates a measuring accuracy of 0.15mgon (0.5") on the TC2003 and
TCA2003. Key elements here are the precise drives and the quadruple detection of
the graduated circles.
All total stations are equipped with coaxial precision distancers. On the TC2003
and TCA2003, a distance measuring accuracy of 1mm+1ppm is achieved due to the use
of specially-developed components.
Robustness
The technology has already been proven many thousands of times all
over the world and is extremely reliable. Due to the high stability and the long
service life of the gearboxes on the automatic instruments, the total stations are
particularly suitable for continuous use such as monitoring tasks or for the control
of machinery. With IP54 the total stations are very well protected against dust
and water.
Automatic fine pointing
The Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) demonstrates its full benefits
during routine repeat measurements, e.g. monitoring, set measurements and measurement
at two telescope faces. Using the sight, the observer aligns the telescope roughly
with the target point and triggers a distance measurement. The total station automatically
moves the telescope to the centre of the prism, measures the distance and corrects
the angle 1 mm with the deviation to the centre of the prism.
- High, constant accuracy independent of the observer
- Fatigue-free and quick
- No focussing necessary
- Measures using any standard prisms (active prisms not required)
Automatic target tracking
In the LOCK mode the instrument automatically tracks the reflector after
the first measurement. With a single button press, all measured values can be recorded
at any time without the need to interrupt target tracking.
Measurement is particularly convenient using the 360° reflector, as this does
not need to be aligned.
The LOCK mode is predominantly suitable for:
- Topographical mass point surveys
- Coded surveys for further processing in LIS/GIS
- Staking out
RCS remote control
Using the Remote Control System (RCS), which is connected to the
total station via an integrated radio modem, you can measure just as easily from
the target as from the instrument itself. Display and keypad on the remote control
are fully compatible with the total station. All functions and programs can be accessed
from the remote control and operation is identical to the total station. Perfect
for robotic or one-person surveying.
