Pacific Crest Corporation gets its name from the beautiful and majestic trail located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The Pacific Crest Trail stretches 2,650 miles through three states from Canada to Mexico. This scenic and rugged trail inspired the name and logo of this wireless data communication company.
If you were to hike this trail from beginning to end, it would take over 5 months hiking 20 miles per day. The trail ranges from near sea level on the Oregon-Washington border to about 13,000 feet in the High Sierra.
The idea for the trail was first proposed in 1926, and the full length route was eventually linked together and announced in the Federal Register on January 30, 1973. The Pacific Crest Trail, in its rugged beauty, is an apt symbol for a company whose products enable survey and other outdoor activities.
